RN-Clinic Nurse/Call Center - Support Services

Position Description

Schedule: Monday-Friday 8am-5pm

Location: Support Services, Avondale Business Center

The RN-Clinic/Call Center is responsible for provision and management of patient care in a clinical area for specific age and patient populations. The RN-Clinic/Call Center delivers care to patients utilizing the nursing process of assessment, planning, intervention, implementation, and evaluation and works within codes of practice and professional guidelines. The RN-Clinic/Call Center is responsible for accurately and efficiently triaging the telephone calls that are received from patients, their caregiver, relatives and other members of the healthcare team. This involves prioritizing patients’ health problems according to their urgency, educating/advising patients, scheduling appointments and making safe, effective clinical decisions under the direction of the patients’ physician.

Position Requirements

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

Required: Degree from an accredited school of professional nursing. A minimum of one year clinical experience. General knowledge of payor-specific or medical specialty billing. Good written and verbal communication skills. Basic computer skills. Must possess excellent Customer Service Skills.

Must: (1) Attend all required course work assigned by management; (2) possess basic knowledge of medical terminology and advanced knowledge of PC applications, software, and database management; (3) be able to perform math & bookkeeping skills; (5) possess exceptional telephone & customer service skills; and (5) be knowledgeable of English grammar & punctuation.

LICENSE, CERTIFICATION AND/OR REGISTRATION:

Required: Current Alabama RN license.

Serves as a role model for staff and supports the hospital and nursing department’s goals and strategies. Demonstrates knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span, assesses the data reflective of the patient’s status, and interprets the necessary information needed to identify each patient’s requirements relative to his or her age specific needs. Coordinates the care and delegates as appropriate to other team members on a defined group of patients. Documents patient care in a knowledgeable, skillful, and consistent manner meeting all required and regulatory standards. This includes but is not limited to patient assessment, education, medication administration, treatments, and patient safety. Demonstrates competency in nursing skills and use of patient care/unit equipment as defined by unit/department-specific requisite skills. Prioritizes patient care in an ongoing manner in accordance with Evidence-Based Practice Standards of Care. Practices effective problem identification and resolution. Delegates tasks and duties to healthcare team members in accordance with the patient’s needs and the team member’s capabilities and qualifications. Qualifications Education/Training: Graduate of an approved school of nursing. Meets all mandatory, developmental, and performance competency requirements for Baptist Health, Orlando Health, and assigned unit/department. Licensure/Certification: Maintains current State of Alabama RN license or valid eNLC multistate RN license Maintains current BLS/Healthcare Provider certification. ACLS, NRP, PALS, TNCC are required for certain areas.
