Job Summary:

The Facial Plastics Advanced Practice Provider (APP) delivers comprehensive clinical care in the ambulatory setting to patients seeking facial plastic, reconstructive, and aesthetic services under the supervision of a Facial Plastic Surgeon. This role includes evaluating patients, developing and implementing treatment plans, performing in office procedures, and managing pre operative and post operative care. The APP plays a critical role in patient education, aesthetic consultations, cosmetic injectables and laser/energy based treatments (as credentialed), and the ongoing management of surgical and nonsurgical outcomes. The position requires strong clinical judgment, aesthetic awareness, excellent patient communication skills, and a commitment to quality, safety, and patient satisfaction within a fast paced, highly specialized practice. The APP will work alongside a growing team of surgeons and advanced practice providers within the division, primarily located at our new suite in One Hundred Oaks, while maintaining flexibility to collaborate across other satellite locations to support continuity of care and divisional growth.

 KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Obtains and documents comprehensive health histories and performs focused physical examinations for patients in the ambulatory facial plastics setting.

  • Collaborates closely with facial plastic surgeons, proactively supporting clinic workflows through pre‑operative evaluations, post‑operative visits, and specialty consultations to ensure efficient, high‑quality patient care.

  • Develops assessments and plans of care, formulates differential diagnoses, and manages acute and chronic conditions related to facial plastic, reconstructive, and aesthetic concerns.

  • Orders, performs, and interprets diagnostic tests and in‑office procedures within scope of practice, including skin and soft tissue biopsies, wound care, and lesion evaluation.

  • Performs office‑based procedures as credentialed, including cosmetic injectables (e.g., botulinum toxin, dermal fillers), laser and energy‑based treatments, and minor procedural interventions.

  • Prescribes and manages pharmacologic and non‑pharmacologic therapies related to peri‑operative care, aesthetic treatments, and postoperative recovery.

  • Provides patient education regarding surgical and nonsurgical treatment options, procedural expectations, and post‑treatment care.

  • Utilizes evidence‑based protocols and specialty best practices to guide patient care and outcomes.

  • Initiates appropriate referrals and coordinates care with surgical colleagues and other specialties as needed.

  • Practices collaboratively within a growing team of surgeons and advanced practice providers in the ambulatory setting, with flexibility to support care across affiliated clinic locations.

  • Responsibilities are representative of the role, and additional duties may be assigned based on clinical needs.

Integrates patient values, goals, cultural considerations, and aesthetic preferences into shared decision‑making across surgical and nonsurgical care. Ensures informed consent, education, and emotional support throughout consultations, pre‑operative evaluations, post‑operative visits, and longitudinal care. Maintains patient autonomy while fostering trust, respect, privacy, and high patient satisfaction.

  • Clinical Knowledge and Expertise (Advanced): Demonstrates advanced clinical and aesthetic expertise in ambulatory facial plastics, applying evidence‑based practice to patient evaluation, diagnosis, and management. Proactively collaborates with facial plastic surgeons to support surgical planning, pre‑operative assessments, and post‑operative management. Performs office‑based procedures as credentialed, including cosmetic injectables, laser and energy‑based treatments, biopsies, and minor procedural interventions. Manages peri‑operative and nonsurgical care with a focus on optimal outcomes and safety.

  • Practice‑Based Scholarly Inquiry and Quality Improvement (Advanced): Integrates current scientific evidence, specialty guidelines, and clinical data to evaluate and enhance patient care and procedural outcomes. Identifies opportunities for quality improvement, workflow optimization, and practice advancement within the ambulatory facial plastics setting. Demonstrates a commitment to continuous learning and contributes to specialty growth through reflective practice and data‑informed decision‑making.

  • Interpersonal and Communication Skills (Advanced): Communicates effectively and professionally with patients, families, facial plastic surgeons, APP colleagues, and interdisciplinary team members. Facilitates coordinated care through proactive communication related to consultations, operative planning, and follow‑up care. Provides clear, thorough documentation of assessments, plans of care, and procedural outcomes within the electronic health record.
