About the LPN Role

The LPN (Licensed Practical Nurse) is responsible for providing safe, effective, and compassionate nursing care to residents from admission through discharge in collaboration with the physician, family, and interdisciplinary care team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Providing direct nursing care in accordance with the resident’s plan of care, including medication administration, assessments, wound care, and accurate documentation

  • Supervising day-to-day nursing activities performed by Nursing Assistants/STNAs

  • Monitoring residents’ conditions, promptly recognizing changes, and notifying the physician and appropriate team members

  • Promoting a positive, respectful, and resident-focused environment

Qualifications:

  • Current, unencumbered Ohio LPN (Licensed Practical Nurse) license

  • Nursing degree from an accredited nursing program or college/university

  • Current CPR certification

  • Previous experience in long-term care, skilled nursing, or a similar setting preferred

Skills and Qualities:

  • Strong knowledge of nursing and medical practices, as well as state, federal, and regulatory requirements related to long-term care

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and sound clinical judgment

  • Ability to work collaboratively with an interdisciplinary team, residents, and families

  • Strong organization, time-management, and prioritization skills

  • Compassionate, patient, and dedicated to providing high-quality resident care
