Step into this crucial role, responsible for assisting with the coordination and implementation of our Infection Prevention and Control Program. Monitor cases of communicable diseases, health care-associated infections and epidemiologically significant organisms. Collect, analyze and report on surveillance data, ensuring the program complies with all applicable regulations. Identify and investigate potential outbreaks, and implement appropriate prevention and control measures. Provide consultation services to various departments throughout our hospital, by partnering closely with staff nurses, nursing leaders and physicians on their infection prevention and control. Regularly evaluate the program, and actively participate in performance improvement initiatives.

This is a per diem day shift position at New York-Presbyterian Brooklyn Methodist Hospital.

Required Criteria:

Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (BSN)
Current NYS RN Licensure
Minimum of two years of infection prevention and control experience
Candidate must possess experience in educating clinical staff and be able to evaluate performance of high level disinfection

The program combines daily in-home visits, virtual visits, and 24/7 remote patient monitoring to give eligible patients an opportunity to stay in the comfort of their own home while receiving their hospital care. This program will be designed and delivered by NYP providers and clinical staff, allowing NYP's best-in-class care across all measures of quality, service, cost, and innovation to be continued in the home setting. Hospital at Home will provide strategic value to NYP by alleviating capacity constraints, improving patient experience, reducing readmission rates, and driving cost savings to the organization. Since 2020, CMS has authorized more than 320 hospitals across 133 health systems in 37 states to offer acute hospital care at home, and those numbers are climbing. The number of programs is expected to double by 2026. We are looking for motivated team members to help us become the largest, safest, and most innovative Hospital at Home program in the country.
