Job Summary and Qualifications

As a highly-skilled and compassionate Medical Observation Nurse you will provide acute care expertise along with excellent patient care on our Medical Observation unit.
You will demonstrate clinical competency, nursing judgment, teaching skills, and a commitment to providing quality patient care. You will be part of a team that pulls together to provide a quality patient care experience.
In this role:
You will provides direct and indirect patient care in MOB Recovery Department setting.
You will communicate with physicians/Nurse Manager/co-workers, as appropriate about changes in patient’s clinical condition including results of diagnostic studies and symptomatology.
You are able to respond quickly and accurately to changes in condition or response to treatment.
You will have the ability to perform a head-to-toe assessment on all patients and reassessments as per policy. This includes: adolescent to geriatric and the general patient population.
You will revise plan of care as indicated by the patient’s response to treatment and evaluates overall plan daily for effectiveness
You will consult other departments as appropriate to provide for an interdisciplinary approach to the patient’s needs
You will demonstrate an ability to assist physicians with procedures and performs services requiring technical and manual skills.
You will identify and address psychosocial needs of patients and family; communicates with social service/discharge planner regarding both in hospital and post discharge needs
Qualifications:
Current State of Utah or Compact Registered Nurse License.
American Red Cross or American Heart Association Basic Life Support Course (BLS or BCLS) and Certification within 7 days of hire.
American Red Cross or American Heart Association Advanced Life Support Course (ALS or ACLS) and Certification. Must obtain ACLS certification within 90 days from date of hire and then maintain certifications.
Previous Critical Care or PACU related experience required for PRN positions

Job Summary and Qualifications As a Registered Nurse, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality, patient-centered care in line with the requirements of the department and the standards of practice for the relevant state and specialty. Collaborating with medical providers and the care team, you will provide personalized, comprehensive, and compassionate care, following established nursing models such as "Assess, Perform, Teach, and Manage." You will also act as an advocate for patients, families, and caregivers, embodying the organizations vision, mission, and values to ensure an outstanding patient experience and positive clinical outcomes. What you will do in this role: Assess the patients condition during admission and each scheduled shift, promptly identifying and reporting any changes in patient status. Perform procedures, monitoring, or other functions as ordered by the medical provider(s), and ensure thorough and timely documentation of care administration in the patients medical record. - Administer prescribed medications, monitor the patient for therapeutic response, and take appropriate action in the event of an unintended response to the medication. Provide exceptional care by responding promptly to patient requests, proactively anticipating patient needs, and resolving them. Educate patients, families, and caregivers about the patients medical condition, treatment plan, medications, possible side effects, and follow-up measures, ensuring complete understanding by translating complex medical terminology.
