Position Summary: Provides direct care by conducting initial and ongoing patient assessments, communicates and documents assessment of patients, prepares patients and assists in clinic procedures. Works collaboratively with office staff and Providers to deliver coordinated care and conducts patient post-visit follow-up activities.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Conducts clinic nursing assessments and provides direct clinical care
- Reviews allergies, patient history, and physical assessment findings with the patient and the medical team prior to procedures.
- Educates patients and family members on post-procedural instructions and care
- Assists Provider during procedures (setting up supplies, passing instruments, preparing sterile trays and equipment, etc.)
- Monitors the patient and addresses clinical observations during pre, peri, and post-procedure
- Documents all care provided accurately and completely in the medical record
- Demonstrates competency in core & specific clinical skills
- Administers medications and treatments as prescribed
- Performs other duties as assigned to support department operations and performance/quality improvement initiatives
- Promotes a clean and safe environment of care, utilizing the SAFE error prevention habits
- Provides the highest standard of privacy and confidentiality in matters involving patients, coworkers, and the hospital by abiding by the Standards of Conduct
Required Qualifications:
- Registered Nurse in the State of Illinois
- CPR certified (BLS)
- Previous procedural-based clinic experience preferred
