RESPONSIBILITIES
With dignity, compassion, and care, your duties include, but are not limited to:

Social companionship
Support with a variety of daily living tasks such as feeding and medication reminders, bathing/dressing and personal hygiene, grooming, toileting, dressing, light housekeeping, light cleaning, laundry and cooking/meal preparation
Transportation to appointments, errands and social outings
Standby assistance with transfers
Overnight safety assistance

QUALIFICATIONS

No healthcare certification is required, but CNA, HHA, or 6 months plus caring for geriatric, chronically ill, or disabled persons preferred
Experience with Dementia and Alzheimer's care a plus
Daily access to email, the Internet, and a mobile phone
Pass a criminal background check (national and any required by the state)
Proof of current, negative, tuberculosis (TB) test
Must be physically able to perform the duties of this position, including the ability to lift, push and pull approximately 25lbs.
Valid driver's license and reliable transportation in addition to proof of valid driver's license and valid automobile insurance
Ability to travel 15 miles for any scheduled shifts
A compassionate heart for older adults
Must possess excellent communication skills
Are mature, caring, punctual and reliable

Key Responsibilities: • To perform or assist the resident with completing Activities of Daily Living (ADL). • Respond to residents call lights to provide maximum comfort, safety and privacy. • Transport residents by ambulation or by wheelchair to areas of community (dining room, lobby and activities). • Report any significant findings/observations to nurse immediately. • Assist residents on admission, transfer and discharge to make a smooth transition. • Responsible for the safekeeping of residents’ personal possessions. • Keep resident rooms neat and safe. • Follow proper infection control techniques • Respect the rights of each resident, particularly privacy and confidentiality. • Re-teach resident to perform ADL skills. • Provide restorative care to prevent pressure sores, contractures, and complications. • Participate in Continuous Quality Improvement and ensures follow-up occurs. • Converse with resident and family; assist them on adjustment to the community. • Ensure adequate hydration and nutrition of resident; report deviations from norm to the Charge Nurse promptly. • Perform blood pressure, pulse, respirations, intake/output and weights accurately. Qualifications: • Certified and state tested as a Certified Nursing Assistant in the state employed; certificate must be active, valid, and in good standing. Pay: $19-25/hr.
