Registered Nurse is a registered professional nurse who delivers, coordinates, and evaluates patient care through collaborative efforts with health team members in accordance with the nursing process and the standards of care and practices. The Staff Nurse must be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care, based on physical, psychosocial, educational, safety and related criteria, appropriate to the age of the patients served. Responsibilities

Provide proper nursing care to all patients, consults with Physicians and other members of the treatment team.
Ensures patients are consistently monitored in the proper location for the duration of activities.
Provides appropriate crisis intervention as necessary by anticipating and responding quickly to escalating behaviors, utilizing de-escalation techniques to diffuse the situation, correctly prioritizing safety concerns.

Previous experience in a mental health hospital setting is preferred.

Requirements

Graduation from an accredited school of Nursing; current licensure with the Louisiana State Board of Nurses.
