Job Specific Competencies:
Central Line Catheter care
Performs venipuncture, IV infusion therapy and pump usage
Wound care assessment, documentation and wound prevention protocol as per policy
Completes Plan of Care. Initiate, review and resolve based on diagnosis and history
Completes assessments and reassessments and required documentation accurately and timely
Renders appropriate nutritional care including enteral + parenteral therapies
Medication administration which includes critical medications and evaluates response
Adheres to infection prevention protocol including but not limited to hand hygiene, PPE and universal precautions
Administration of blood and blood products
Able to perform chest PT, oral, naso, tracheostomy, endo, and tracheal suctioning
Activates Core Measures and Septic Protocols as indicated
Reports critical Lab, Radiology, EKG, + ABG values to MD according to policy
Interprets cardiac monitor rhythm + performs appropriate interventions
Identifies + responds to emergency situations
Proficient in ventilation management + pulmonary support
Demonstrates proficiency in life support; code blue and Rapid Response
Adapts to varied age specific patient populations; e.g. infant, toddler, adult, etc.
Identifies concomitant health + social needs of patients
Ensures proper discharge instructions and medication reconciliation including follow-up referral
Interprets cardiac monitor rhythm + performs appropriate interventions
Assists with bedside interventional procedures
Uses Emergency Severity Index(ESI) tool appropriately in triage
Activates ER Nursing Protocols appropriately

EDUCATION + EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
BS in Nursing.
Valid NJ state RN License.
BLS, ACLS - AHA APPROVED

The Nurse is also a member of the Treatment Team and provides input into the development of the Master Treatment Plan. Responsibilities Include: Essential Duties and Responsibilities Initiates the admission process by obtaining provider orders upon patient arrival at a residential facility and completing the initial nursing assessment within 24 hours, including assistance with medical intake (patient history and physical). Performs vital sign monitoring, including orthostatic vitals and blind weights as ordered by the provider; conducts patient assessments and documents findings in detailed nursing notes. Monitors and documents patient progress or regression in accordance with established policies and procedures. Assists providers in facilitating weekly patient consultations. Offers education and support to help patients develop the skills needed for safe self-administration of medications after discharge. Ensures accurate placement of medications in the designated medication box and updates the medication administration record (MAR) accordingly. Supports patients in obtaining medications from the pharmacy, including facilitating initial medication orders.
