
Neonatal Nurse Practitioner - PE Pediatrics-Neonatology - USA Health Physicians Group

Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive physical assessments of neonates, including critically ill and premature infants
- Develop and implement individualized plans of care in collaboration with supervising physicians
- Manage acute and chronic neonatal conditions such as respiratory distress, sepsis, congenital anomalies and prematurity-related complications
- Provide advanced procedures including but not limited to intubation, central line placement, lumbar punctures and ventilator management
- Monitor and interpret diagnostic tests including laboratory data, radiologic imaging and cardiopulmonary findings
- Participate in neonatal resuscitation and stabilization at high risk deliveries
- Communicate effectively with families regarding patient condition, treatment plans and prognosis
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including nurses, respiratory therapists and specialists
- Ensure accurate and timely documentation in the medical record
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives, research and evidence-based practice
- Provide education and support to staff and families
- Completes all mandatory department, educational and hospital requirements
- Adheres to current Infection Control and Safety Standards
- Regular and prompt attendance
- Ability to work schedule as defined and overtime as required
- Related duties as assigned
Additional Information
Employees must be in a regular position, working 20 hours or more per week (.50 FTE or greater) to qualify for benefits.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in nursing from an accredited institution and completion of an approved nurse practitioner training program Required
- NNP - Neonatal Nurse Practitioner certification Required
- RN - Registered Nurse - State Licensure and/or Compact State Licensure in accordance with the Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) for Alabama Required
- NRP - Neonatal Resuscitation Required
- Comparable combination of education and experience may substitute for the above requirements.
