POSITION SUMMARY

What you’ll be doing: We are hiring a Medical Assistant to assist our providers with exams, procedures and other processes to meet the specific needs of our patients, including but not limited to:

  • Triaging patients, measuring vitals, and recording information on patients’ charts

  • Blood draws, venipuncture, specimen collection, and completion of lab work

  • Administering medications and immunizations under provider direction

  • Setting up procedures as instructed by provider

  • Preparing treatment rooms for examinations and bringing patients from the waiting room to exam rooms

What you’ll bring to the table: Graduation from a Medical Assistant, EMT, Paramedic, or other relevant program, OR an active Registered Medical Assistant or Certified Medical Assistant designation, OR 6 months of experience in a relevant environment. We’d also prefer if you have prior recent experience in a healthcare setting, such as an emergency department, urgent care, or other ambulatory clinic.

Patient care support may include assisting medical staff, gathering and preparing lab samples, conducting basic lab tests, performing EKGs, removing sutures/staples, changing dressings, educating patients and families about care, and documenting in records. Additional tasks include disposing of contaminated supplies, processing instruments, cleaning medical equipment, calling in prescriptions, preparing and giving medications as instructed by the doctor, and handling prescription refills. Performs other clinical tasks as assigned by the doctor. Administrative responsibilities: The CMA greets patients, answers calls, schedules appointments (including arrival in Maestro Care), checks out patients, and handles referral scheduling. They coordinate hospital admissions, lab services, and update medical records. The CMA also completes forms, manages billing tasks like receiving copays and collecting balances, handles correspondence, and orders supplies. Additional administrative tasks may be assigned, and the CMA may assist with clinic activities, such as Joint Commission or fall prevention efforts, and participate in clinic committees. What you will need: Education: Level I -- Graduation from an accredited Medical Assistant program is strongly preferred. High school or GED graduation is required. Level II -- Graduation from a medical assistant program accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) or the Accrediting Bureau of Health Education Schools (ABHES) is strongly preferred. Float Medical Assistant

Position Summary FastMed Urgent Care seeks an experienced Medical Assistant (MA) Float capable of working (full-time) at assigned clinic locations providing ancillary support to providers. The MA will be expected to travel to assigned clinical locations as needed; and will use their clinical skills and judgement to deliver fantastic care and create unforgettable patient experience. Qualified Candidates Assists provider with exams, procedures and other processes related to direct patient care under direct supervision. Blood drawings, venipuncture, specimen collection, and completion of lab paperwork Administering IM, SQ, and ID medications and immunizations under provider direction Applying splints as directed by provider Setting up procedures as trained when ordered by provider Triages patients, measures vital signs, and records information on patients' charts Provides timely follow up regarding lab results under the direction of the provider Prepares treatment rooms for examination of patients and brings patients from the waiting room to an exam room in a timely manner Consistently communicates with patients on wait times, provides direction to the next step in the treatment process Maintains clear, appropriate, and accurate documentation Notifies provider of patients ready for exam, room number, vitals, and chief complaint Observes and communicates changes in the patient’s condition to the provider on duty Cross trained to perform front desk operations such as scheduling, answering phones, insurance verification and other duties as assigned. Checks all supplies and medications including sample medications for expiration (monthly). Experience & Skills Must have at least 1 year of experience as MA in urgent care, emergency medicine, or ambulatory care setting. Medical Assistant or passing RMA, CMA, or CCMA examination. Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA state license required) with phlebotomy certificate Emergency Medical Technician (EMT-A) Paramedic Or graduate of another relevant program with CMO approval; Or, possesses active Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) or Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) designation.
