This 25ââŹâbed inpatient oncology unit cares for a diverse and meaningful patient population, ranging from medicalââŹâsurgical to stepââŹâdown, with the ability to flex staffing based on patient acuity.
- NurseââŹâtoââŹâpatient ratios adjust with acuity
- Lower acuity: up to 5 patients
- Higher acuity / stepââŹâdown: as few as 3 patients
- The unit is evolving into a mixed critical care environment, offering exposure to higherââŹâlevel monitoring and complex oncology careâwith strong clinical support.
- Patients may experience rapid changes in condition, and teamwork is essential to ensure early recognition and intervention.

- Collaborate closely with providers, pharmacists, case management, and support staff
