Summary
Perform ongoing monitoring and assessment of the activities associated with integration of quality and performance improvement, and regulatory and accreditation compliance. Facilitate and coordinate activities and processes of the Confluence Health (CH) Quality Management Program to ensure the provision of safe, timely, effective, equitable and patient-centered care to Confluence Health patients by engagement and education of staff, providers and leaders to understand, improve and sustain safe, high-quality care and experience at Confluence Health.
Position Reports To: Care Excellence Director
Essential Functions
- Conduct and facilitate Care Excellence department efforts to promote CH regulatory and accreditation processes and including monitoring, reporting, and improvement activities to ensure ongoing compliance with regulatory and accreditation standards.
- Assist with facilitation of the CH Quality Management Program, which includes facilitating the activities and function of the Survey Readiness Committee.
- Serve as Care Excellence department liaisons for Quality Management Subcommittee activity and productivity, and facilitate consistent reporting and follow-through activities via the Quality Management structure to Confluence Health Leadership.
- Coordinate and facilitate activities of the CH Internal Audit program.
- Facilitate and assist staff and leadership using CHVS methodology and tools to provide service excellence through ongoing evaluation and improvement efforts.
- Provide consultation as needed for ongoing policy, protocol, procedure and guideline implementation, review, integration, and reconciliation, helping to ensure they follow current best practice and industry standards, and meet regulatory and accreditation standards.
- Skill in written and verbal communication including computer systems and applications, facilitation practices and principles, and presenting in front of large groups.
- Working knowledge of Nursing theory and practice.
- Skill in gathering, collating and reporting information.
- Ability to work effectively with staff, patients, public, and external agencies.
- Required to maintain active Basic Life Support (CPR) certification.
- Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
Required:
- Current licensure in the state of Washington (RCW 18.88) or licensure through Multistate Nurse Licensure Compact (SSB 5499).
- Minimum of 3 years’ nursing experience in the ambulatory and/or acute care setting.
- Working knowledge of Quality Management theory, and familiarity with regulatory and accreditation organizations standards.
- CPHQ certification (or equivalent) (required within 3 years of hire).
- Knowledge of Lean improvement methodology and health care quality improvement practices.
Desired:
- One year of experience in a Quality Improvement or Quality Management position within the healthcare industry.

Working Conditions:
- Work is performed in the office, clinic and hospital environment. Involves frequent contact with staff, physicians, and leadership, and occasionally the public. Involves occasional day travel and overnight/multiple day travel. Work may be stressful at times. Contact may involve dealing with angry or upset people. Requires a combination of working independently and also working closely with others. Hours may be irregular at times; overtime may be required.
