Medical Assistant | Children's Primary Care
Location: Logan Health Children’s Primary Care – Kalispell, MT
Schedule: Full-time 9 hour Shifts | 4 Days Per Week
At Logan Health Children’s Primary Care, we are dedicated to providing compassionate, family-centered healthcare for infants, children, and adolescents. Our team works collaboratively to create a welcoming and supportive environment focused on delivering high-quality pediatric care while building lasting relationships with patients and families.
We are seeking a Registered Medical Assistant to join our pediatric primary care team. This role is ideal for a compassionate, detail-oriented professional who enjoys working with children and families in a fast-paced clinical environment and is committed to delivering exceptional patient care.
Key Responsibilities
Receive and prepare pediatric patients for examinations and treatments according to clinic protocols.
Obtain and accurately document patient histories, vital signs, and clinical information in the electronic medical record.
Prepare exam rooms, equipment, and supplies based on patient and provider needs.
Assist physicians and advanced practice clinicians with physical examinations, treatments, and minor procedures.
Perform minor procedures including, but not limited to, suture or staple removal, application of dressings, splints, and casts as applicable.
Collect laboratory specimens and assist with diagnostic testing, treatments, and procedures as needed.
Clean and disinfect equipment in accordance with clinic and infection prevention policies.
Assist with scheduling, patient registration, co-pay collection, referrals, and prior authorizations as assigned.
Triage incoming phone calls and patient portal messages to ensure appropriate follow-up by nursing staff or providers.
Participate in meetings, committees, quality improvement initiatives, and risk-related departmental activities as requested.
With approved training and competencies, may perform scribe duties including transcription, proofreading, and documentation support within the electronic medical record.
Maintain regular and consistent attendance and complete all onboarding education and competency requirements prior to performing patient care tasks.
Required Qualifications
Registered Medical Assistant credential required.
Graduate of a CAAHEP or ABHES accredited medical assisting program, OR
Completion of a medical assistant program accredited by a regional or national accrediting organization recognized by the U.S. Department of Education, including a minimum of 720 clock hours of training with at least 160 hours of externship.
Strong understanding of HIPAA and patient confidentiality requirements.
Ability to employ critical thinking skills, adapt to changing workloads, prioritize tasks effectively, and seek assistance appropriately.
Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and the ability to work independently and collaboratively within a healthcare team.
Ability to maintain professionalism, integrity, empathy, and kindness while interacting with pediatric patients, families, providers, and staff.
Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite and the ability to learn additional software systems as needed.
Preferred Qualifications
Minimum of one (1) year of experience in a medical practice setting preferred.
Current Health Care Provider CPR certification preferred or ability to successfully complete prior to orientation completion.
Medical office experience and medical terminology training preferred.
Working knowledge of anatomy, physiology, pharmacology, laboratory values, and medical equipment.
Familiarity with infection control practices, aseptic technique, patient rights, regulatory standards, and common safety precautions.
Experience working in pediatric or family practice settings preferred.

Logan Health operates 24 hours per day, seven days per week. Schedules are set to accommodate the requirements of the position and the needs of the organization and may be adjusted as needed.
