This position is 36 hours per week on the night shift (7p-7a), with rotating weekend and holiday requirements. You will work three 12-hour shifts per week. The Work: Performs basic patient care activities within the scope of practice. Assists patients with meeting their emotional, physical, and spiritual needs Greets patients and visitors. Answers, screens, and routes telephone calls. Calls codes, pages, and overhead announcements as requested Reports abnormal findings or changes in physical, mental, and emotional conditions to nursing staff Assists with keeping unit and patient rooms stocked, clean, and orderly You Have: State of Maine Certified Nursing Assistant Certification. Current BLS (American Heart Association). Ability to think and work independently and with direction, and communicate with staff members in a fast-paced and sometimes stressful environment. High School graduate or equivalent. (Preferred) Comfortable using a computer. Performs basic patient care activities, as delegated by an RN, including monitoring vital signs, taking blood glucose measurements, and recording intake and output. Your Qualifications: Must be at least 18 years of age. Enrolled in a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) course within one year of hire is required. Certification as a Nursing Assistant (CNA) is required within 18 months of hire. Basic Life Support (BLS) and Management of Aggressive Behavior (MOAB) are required within 6 months of hire. A minimum of one year of directly related work experience is strongly preferred. Proficiency in Microsoft applications is desired. Exceptional customer service and communication skills.
