Qualifications and Experience
- Current LPN or LVN license in the state of Illinois
- Previous experience working with children or in educational settings preferred
- Understanding of DNR (Do Not Resuscitate) protocols and sensitivity to related healthcare needs
- Ability to respond effectively to medical emergencies and collaborate with multidisciplinary school teams
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- CPR and First Aid certification
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver comprehensive nursing care to students, particularly those with specialized healthcare needs or DNR directives
- Monitor and manage chronic health conditions in accordance with medical plans
- Administer medications and provide first aid as required
- Maintain accurate health records and document services provided
- Communicate effectively with teachers, staff, parents, and healthcare providers to ensure continuity of care
- Create a safe, supportive, and confidential environment for all students
- Assist in training school personnel on health procedures as needed
