Qualifications:

• Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.

• High School Diploma or its equivalent.

• Minimum of one (1) year experience in the health care industry; long term care industry experience preferred.

• Must possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action.

• Must possess the ability to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies/personnel, and the general public.

• Must be knowledgeable of supply practices, procedures, systems, and guidelines.

• Must possess the ability to minimize waste of supplies, misuse of equipment, etc.

• Must possess the ability to seek out new methods and principles and be willing to incorporate them into existing practices.

• Be able to follow written and oral instructions.

• Be knowledgeable in computers, data input/retrieval and output.

• Must be able to relate information concerning a resident's condition.

• Software knowledge - Outlook, Excel, Word etc.

• Must be a Certified Nursing Assistant (C.N.A.)

Education and Experience:

• Must possess, as a minimum, a High School Diploma or its equivalent. Associate’s degree preferred but not required.

• Must have, as a minimum, one (1) year of experience working in a health care facility or environment. Long Term Care industry experience preferred.

Background Screening Requirement:

This position requires background screening through the Agency for Health Care Administration (AHCA) Care Provider Background Screening Clearinghouse.

Ensure call bell is positioned within residents’ reach. Keep incontinent residents clean and dry. Distribute, empty, and clean bedpans and urinals and assist residents to and from bathroom or with bedside commode. Empty catheter bags as needed. Ambulate residents, assist residents in and out of chairs and wheelchairs, position bedridden residents according to plan of care, and utilize appropriate support devices. Make rounds and reposition residents. Prepare residents for meals and assist with meal service – transport residents to and from dining room, serve trays, assist with feeding when necessary, remove trays, and accurately document residents’ intake immediately after consumption. Serve nourishments and betweenmealsnacks to residents as ordered and distribute ice and water, rotating water pitchers and deliver pitchers to the Dietary Department for sanitation.
