For a limited time MaineHealth is offering a $10,000 Sign on bonus for all eligible Registered Nurses with 0-2 years of RN experience and $20,000 for Registered Nurses with greater than 2 years of RN work experience!

This is a Full-time, 36 hour/week, Night shift position.

Unit Bio

The Special Care Unit is an 8-bed ICU/Step-Down Unit, where nurses are responsible for conducting complex assessments and providing intensive therapies and interventions to a variety of patients. Nurses have the opportunity to care for patients with acute and chronic respiratory failure, cardiac events, sepsis, metabolic disorders, complex surgical recoveries, and more. This department has a great collaborative team with the ancillary departments and the physicians/surgeons.

The MH Registered Nurse - Acute Care role provides high quality patient care through assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient outcomes. Collaborates, delegates, and communicates with members of the healthcare team to ensure optimal care.

MH RN II: This level is competent in their clinical role and has demonstrated the ability to care for most patients assigned. Though not able to care for every patient type within their area of hire, demonstrates how to obtain the appropriate resources to develop required skills and knowledge over time. This level includes automatic advancement after 1 year as a RN I – must be in good standing and meets RN I requirements.

Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities (KSAs)

  • Education: Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing required; BSN preferred.
  • Licensure/Certification: Current applicable state(s) license as a Registered Professional Nurse required. Current BLS certification required or must obtain within 30 days of start date. Other certifications may be required specific to area of practice or in accordance with Department guidelines.
  • Experience: One year of recent RN experience required. Automatic advancement from RN I level if all onboarding requirements are complete, including the New Grad Residency (where available).

Nurse Manager (RN)- Inpatient Behavioral Health Unit (Rockport)

Description MaineHealth Behavioral Health Management/Leadership Req #: 78791 MaineHealth Behavioral Health is seeking a Nurse Manager for our 16-bed inpatient Behavioral Health unit based in Rockport. This is a Monday–Friday role with 24/7 accountability, supported after hours by House Supervision and a dedicated Care Coordinator. The Nurse Manager will lead a team of approximately 30 FTEs and play a key role in fostering a safe, therapeutic, and collaborative care environment. The ideal candidate brings a strong passion for serving the behavioral health population, a calm and collaborative leadership style, and the ability to think critically in complex situations. This leader will also demonstrate innovation and a commitment to continuous improvement. 2+ years Behavioral Health RN experience, prior leadership experience desired. Summary The Nurse Manager assists the Director in the coordination, supervision, and management of all personnel and patient care activities of the unit and in the successful operation of the hospital and network at large.
