Responsibilities PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES May perform the duties and responsibilities of the Staff Registered Nurse for a specific patient population. Makes daily staff work assignments based on patient acuity and clinical competence of staff. May recommend staffing requirements for the next shift. Makes patient rounds, evaluates nursing/unit activities, sets patient care priorities and recommends operational changes to enhance services of the unit. Supervises nursing/patient care staff, including orienting, training, counseling, and evaluating.
