Required Education

Graduate of accredited nursing program. Current NC RN license or licensure from Nursing Compact State. BCLS certification. If the BCLS certification is not from the American Heart Association (AHA), an AHA certification is required within three months of employment date. ACLS and NRP within three months of employment date

Required Work Experience

No previous experience required. Incumbent should be proficient in the basic aspects of the job and able to assume call responsibilities as required within orientation completion date.

Department: 35018 Atrium Health Union - Nursing: Mother and Baby Status: Full time Benefits Eligible: Yes Hou rs Per Week: 36 Schedule Details/Additional Information: Weekends; 7p-7a Pay Range: $38.20 - $57.30 Our 16-bed Labor, Delivery, Recovery, and Postpartum (LDRP) unit provides comprehensive, family-centered care for patients from admission through postpartum recovery. We care for patients at 32 weeks gestation and above and support select antepartum patients requiring additional monitoring. The unit includes a 5-bed triage area, allowing for timely assessment and management in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment. Nurses are actively involved in all aspects of care, including triage, labor management, delivery, and recovery, working collaboratively to ensure safe and high-quality outcomes. Ideal candidates will have at least 1 year of Labor & Delivery experience and be comfortable working in a dynamic, patient-focused environment. Major Responsibilities: Engages in unit councils, professional governance, and quality initiatives to improve care processes and apply evidence-based practices. Utilizes the nursing process to assess, plan, diagnose, implement, and evaluate nursing care, engaging patients and families through the continuum of care. Monitors patient conditions, adjusts care plans, mobilizes resources, and collaborates with the care team to influence care outcomes. Upholds and promotes a culture of safety. Continuously evaluates patient, team, and unit outcomes, taking action as needed. May administer medications, treatments, and therapies safely and according to clinical protocols and procedures.
