Under the Direction of the Nurse Manager and guided by the policies and procedures of Ambulatory Services, the Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN), provides care to OBGYN patients and uncomplicated and high-risk OB patients at both the Obstetrics Services and Perinatal Medicine Specialties practice, and GYN Surgical Specialties, UCSF Department of Women’s Health. The LVN will play a critical role in the patient experience including optimizing clinic flow, providing in and outreach to patients and working collaboratively with the team to create a patient centered environment. In collaboration with the physician and nursing staff, the LVN has the clinical responsibility for maintaining a safe environment for patients and staff, and for daily operations. The LVN is a team player who works closely with others and who is flexible in dealing with the changing priorities. S/he is a self-reliant individual who synthesizes his/her knowledge of practice operations in order to problem-solve, prioritize and facilitate complex transactions in the course of his/her daily activities. Act as a OB Team CPSP program lead for patients, including completing necessary assignments. Take BP and weight. Obtain urine samples for patients who require it Take all specimens and pair them up with completed requisition forms. Note in specimen log what was sent and initial.
