Job Summary and Qualifications

As a Licensed Practical Nurse/Licensed Vocational Nurse (LPN/LVN) at HCA Healthcare, you’ll play a key role in delivering safe, high-quality care that puts patients first. Your responsibilities will include:

Providing focused nursing care for patients with complex needs by administering medications, managing lines or drains, and assisting with interventions like cardiac monitoring or respiratory support
Closely observing patients for subtle changes in status — including shifts in heart rhythm, oxygen levels, or neurological signs — and escalating concerns quickly to support early intervention
Documenting timely, accurate updates that help the care team coordinate effectively in a high-acuity environment
Helping patients and families understand complex conditions and recovery steps with clarity and comfort
Working closely with RNs, providers, and specialists to stabilize patients and guide them through the transition from intensive care toward recovery

What qualifications you will need:

Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
(GVN) Graduate Vocational Nurse, or (LPN/LVN) Licensed Practical or Vocational Nurse
Vocational School Graduate, or Associate Degree

A LPV/LVN is responsible for providing a full range of nursing in an interdisciplinary environment including: -Treatments -Care Planning -Medication Administration -Provision of Direct Patient Care -Problem Solving -Monitoring Patient Care provided by unlicensed staff.The LVN Charge Nurse must arrive to shift on time (7 mins before 7 mins after shift) . The LVN Charge Nurse must Complete CNA’s assignment for the shift on the binder and on the board Review 24 hour report with charge nurse from the previous shift. The LVN Charge Nurse must do the narcotic count (sign on shift must be completed at this time’s) all narcotic count sheets verified Room rounds with off going nurse ( make sure CNA’s are also doing rounds ) The LVN Charge Nurse must review 24hr report for lab follow up , diagnostic follow ups and any pending orders The LVN Charge Nurse must do medication passes per time schedule, G-tubes, Coumadin, PRN medications, Nebulizer treatments, and skin treatments (if any). Complete monthly summary assigned for shift Complete skin assessment assigned for shift Ensure all CNA’s documentation on ADLs and meal intake is completed before end of shift. Complete all MDS charting, Skilled charting, changes in condition and/or new orders or treatments received for specific resident in their charts. Please document schedule or cancelled doctors’ appointments in residents’ chart.
