Clinical Resource Nurse

We are seeking an experienced Clinical Resource Nurse, licensed as an RN in California who will partner with our clinical leaders of our facilities in California. The ideal candidate must possess at least five years of experience as a Director of Nursing for Skilled Nursing Care facilities, have a strong understanding of CMS and CDPH regulatory requirements, possess the capacity to lead staff and be willing to travel amongst the assigned facilities on a frequent basis.

The primary purpose of your job position is to coach the Directors of Nursing in your region toward clinical, cultural, and financial excellence through intentional leadership. You will guide the teams to care for their residents and staff not only to meet the regulatory requirements but assist to refine processes that help the teams become the best care givers they can be. This job will require constant presence in the facilities and will not be remote.

 

Qualifications

Education:

·       Graduate of accredited school of nursing, BSN or MSN preferred.

Licenses/Certifications:

·       Valid RN license in CA.

·       Valid CPR certification.

·       Valid driver’s license.

Experience:

·       5 years successful experience as a Director of Nursing or equivalent in long-term care preferred.

·       Multi-site experience preferred.

 

Essential Functions

·       Conducts on-site reviews of clinical operations, medical records, and staff performance.

·       Review’s facility clinical activities and collaborates on root-cause analysis and action plans.

·       Educates facility staff in clinical and regulatory issues, as well as facility policies.

·       Provides guidance and assistance to Directors of Nursing. Acts as a mentor for professional growth.

·       Identifies quality of care issues and takes appropriate action.

·       Validates the clinical competencies and effectiveness of the DON.

·       Is resourceful in provision of clinical staff training to achieve successful performance.

·       Participates with the orientation of the facility DON.

·       Quantifies data for tracking and trending, supporting a strong Quality Assurance and Performance Improvement program.

·       Communicates timely and skillfully, actively listens and functions effectively as a part of the team.

·       Provides Infection Prevention oversight and guidance.

·       Assists in the writing, implementation and follow through of facility plans of correction.

·       Is present for annual and complaint visits from CDPH to guide and support the Directors of Nursing and clinical team members.

 

Other Functions

·       All other duties as assigned.

·       Maintains resident confidentiality and ensures HIPAA compliance by facility nursing department.
