QualDerm Partners is looking for an experienced Mohs Surgery Medical Assistant to join our Hickory, NC team. This is a great opportunity for someone with dermatology experience who enjoys hands-on patient care, surgical support, and being part of a collaborative clinical team.

In this role, you will work Monday through Friday from 7:30 AM to 4:30 PM, supporting Mohs surgeons during procedures, preparing patients, assisting with documentation, and helping ensure each patient feels comfortable and well cared for throughout their visit. Dermatology experience is required, and Mohs or surgical dermatology experience is a strong plus.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare patients for Mohs surgery by taking medical histories, recording vital signs, and addressing patient concerns.
  • Assist surgeons by preparing and handling surgical instruments and equipment during procedures.
  • Ensure the surgical environment is maintained in compliance with safety and infection control standards.
  • Provide post-operative instructions and support to patients to promote optimal recovery.
  • Maintain accurate and thorough documentation of patient interactions and procedures in electronic health records (EHR).
  • Coordinate with administrative staff to schedule appointments and follow-up visits efficiently.
  • High school diploma or equivalent; Medical Assistant certification or surgical technician training preferred.
  • Experience working in dermatology is required.
  • Strong knowledge of medical terminology and surgical aseptic techniques.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with patients and clinical staff.
  • Ability to multitask and work well under pressure in a fast-paced clinical environment.
  • Proficiency with electronic health records (EHR) and healthcare software.
  • Commitment to patient confidentiality and adherence to HIPAA regulations and clinical protocols.
