Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey is seeking a per diem Senior Licensed Practical Nurse for the Acute Psychological Services Department within Rutgers University Behavioral Health Care.

The primary purpose of the per diem Senior Licensed Practical Nurse is to provide technical nursing care to child through adult populations. Performs treatments and procedures within established guidelines. Provides a safe and comfortable environment for patients.

Among the key duties of this position are the following:

  • Contributes to nursing assessment, nursing care planning and treatment plan.
  • Demonstrates competency in performing all procedures within the scope of practice and requirements of the position.
  • Documents all aspects of patient care in the EMR.
  • Utilizes effective communications skills by demonstrating concern and courtesy in all interpersonal relationships.
  • Maintains patient safety, comfort and cleanliness.
  • Is knowledgeable with and initiates emergency procedures. 
  • Responsible for the daily cleaning of equipment and maintaining neatness throughout the department.
  • Maintains inventory of supplies and orders as necessary.
