Job Summary and Responsibilities
As an Employee Health RN, you will serve as a critical clinician, safeguarding the well-being of our dedicated staff and fostering a healthy, thriving workplace community through expert assessment and intervention.
Every day you will deliver comprehensive occupational health services, including complex pre-employment screenings, immunizations, acute injury assessment and management, case management, and proactive health education for our employees.
To be successful in this role you will combine advanced clinical expertise with exceptional organizational and critical thinking skills, a compassionate approach, and a proactive commitment to promoting the health and safety of our valued employees, ultimately contributing to a healthier and stronger organization.
- Demonstrates setting priorities, problem solving and critical thinking and follow-through with clinical assigned job functions.
- Maintains confidential employee files in a database and physical file with required elements present. Coordinates clearance of new employees, volunteers and contracted employees including physicals and testing working with Quest, MRO, and Dignity Health Medical Group.
- Administers Quantiferon tests and flu vaccines annually for employees, volunteers and physicians. Performs medical screenings with appropriate follow up on screening/test results as indicated.
- Provides triage and first aid treatment to employees injured or exposed to communicable disease or chemical hazards while at work following established guidelines, along with immediate f/u post-exposure.
- Assists and interfaces with other health care staff, the Nursing Supervisors, managers, and the Emergency Department for examination, testing and treatment of employees.
- Provides for the smooth flow of employees for referral for medical assessment and the ED in triaging employees for appropriate treatment. Notifies appropriate parties that employee is being referred for examination. Sends employee charts as appropriate. Refers appropriate employees for hearing conservation tests as required.
Required
- Graduate of anaccredited school of nursing. and 5 years of experience as a Nurse
- Registered Nurse: NV
- American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS)
Preferred
- Nursing experience in acute care hospital setting
