Nursing Supervisor (Full-Time)
Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced and compassionate Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team as a Nursing Supervisor. In this leadership role, you will provide operational and clinical oversight of hospital nursing services during assigned shifts, ensuring the delivery of safe, high-quality patient care while supporting nursing staff and interdisciplinary teams.
The Nursing Supervisor serves as a key resource for clinical decision-making, staffing coordination, patient flow management, and problem resolution across the hospital. This position offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on patient outcomes while helping foster a collaborative and supportive care environment.
Key Responsibilities
Provide leadership and oversight of nursing operations during assigned shifts.
Promote the delivery of safe, high-quality, patient-centered care throughout the hospital.
Serve as a clinical and administrative resource to nursing staff and interdisciplinary teams.
Coordinate staffing assignments and assist with workforce planning to ensure appropriate patient coverage.
Support patient throughput, admissions, transfers, and discharges.
Respond to clinical, operational, and staffing concerns and facilitate timely resolution.
Collaborate with physicians, department leaders, and ancillary services to optimize patient care and operational efficiency.
Ensure compliance with hospital policies, regulatory requirements, accreditation standards, and patient safety initiatives.
Assist with emergency response situations and provide leadership during critical events.
Promote a culture of teamwork, professionalism, accountability, and continuous improvement.
Minimum Qualifications
Education
Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing.
Associate Degree in Nursing (ASN) required.
Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
Experience
Minimum of three (3) years of recent acute care nursing experience required.
Previous Charge Nurse, House Supervisor, Assistant Nurse Manager, Nurse Manager, or leadership experience preferred.
Experience in a hospital setting with demonstrated clinical decision-making and leadership abilities preferred.
Licensure & Certifications
Current and unrestricted Florida Registered Nurse (RN) license.
Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification through the American Heart Association.
Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Certification through the American Heart Association.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Strong leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills.
Ability to effectively prioritize and manage multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
Excellent critical thinking and clinical judgment skills.
Knowledge of hospital operations, staffing practices, patient safety principles, and regulatory standards.
Ability to build positive working relationships across multidisciplinary teams.
Proficiency in electronic health record (EHR) systems and healthcare technology platforms.
Physical Requirements
Ability to stand, walk, bend, and move throughout the facility for extended periods.
Ability to occasionally lift, push, pull, and move up to 50 pounds with or without reasonable accommodation.
Schedule
Per-Diem (PRN) Position
Flexible scheduling opportunities.
Availability to work day, evening, night, weekend, and holiday shifts as needed.
Additional shifts may be available based on departmental needs.
