Position Summary

 

The House Supervisor assumes responsibility for complete facility operations during the assigned shift. This includes supervising nursing and clinical staff, ensuring that patient care is provided in an accurate and timely manner. This position has responsibility for the supervision of care of patients ranging in age from adolescents through adults.

 

 

Job Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Assume responsibility for facility operations during the assigned shift
  • Evaluate patients/milieu acuity each shift, report high acuity to CNO
  • Provide leadership, supervision, and direction to Charge Nurses, RNs, LVNs, MHTs, and Unit Clerks
  • Assists in evaluation of the staffs’ performance. 
  • Assign staff according to acuity and staffing guidelines. 
  • Comply with all Administrative, Clinical, and Human Resources policies and procedures. 
  • Actively support the mission, philosophy, and goals of the hospital. 
  • Communicate with sensitivity to growth, development, and cultural issues. 
  • Assess, direct, and intervene in crisis situations.   
  • Model age, growth, and developmentally appropriate therapeutic communication in all interactions. 
  • Exhibit regular & expected / required attendance. 
  • Maintain professional demeanor in dress, attitude, support of unit program, and hospital mission / philosophy.

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS

 

Education:  Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.  BSN preferred.

Required Experience: Minimum of at least three (3) years of nursing experience.

Preferred Experience: At least two (2) years of supervisory experience in a hospital; more than (2) years of critical care/progressive clinical care experience

Licensure: Current State of Texas Registered Nurse License; Current CPR certification
