What You'll Do

The Cardiothoracic and vascular surgery NP/PA will work collaboratively with the surgical team to provide comprehensive preoperative evaluations, postoperative management, patient education, and discharge planning ensuring continuity of care and optimal patient outcomes.

Schedule: Full Time | Rotating clinical schedule with call.

Requirements

Current Missouri Advanced Practice Nurse licensure as a Nurse Practitioner according to MO State Board of Nursing.

Current Missouri Registered Nurse license or current Registered Nurse license from a compact state. If a compact license is held, it must be in the nurse’s state of residence.

OR

Current Missouri Physician Assistant license.

Graduate of Physician assistant program accredited by the committee on Allied Health, education and accreditation of the American Medical Association.

Consults with collaborative physician or designee to provide health care services for conditions other than acute self-limited or well-defined problems. Makes appropriate specialty referrals for patient treatment outside of scope of practice. Establishes a process of timely review and management of abnormal test results. Maintains an ongoing timely process of submission of patient charts to collaborative physician or designee for review every 14 days as required by Missouri State Statute. Establishes a plan of care/treatment and provides counseling and clear instructions to the patient based on jointly agreed-upon protocols that are specific to the clinical conditions treated by the collaborating physician and collaborating APRN.
