Department Summary: The Neuro Center Clinic (1L) at Duke South Clinic is a hospital based clinic. Patient population includes a variety of neurological disorders including general neurology, epilepsy, multiple sclerosis, sleep, cerebrovascular conditions, and neuromuscular conditions.Our team is active in delivering exemplary care for each patient to ensure an excellent patient experience, every time.

 

Location: On-site, Duke Clinic, 40 Duke Medicine Cir, Clinic 1L

 

Hours: 1.0 FTE, 40 hours per week

 

Duties and Responsibilities of this Level:

  • Administer medications and IV fluids as prescribed by the doctor and maintain records.
  • Provide direct care to patients under the supervision of a nurse or doctor.
  • Follow the doctor's orders and nursing care plan for patient care.
  • Report patient responses to care to a nurse for evaluation and adjustments to the care plan.
  • Assist other healthcare staff in delivering patient care.
  • Help doctors and nurses with diagnostic procedures.
  • Assess nursing care, patient responses, and prioritize nursing tasks.
  • Help develop and implement policies to ensure patient comfort and safety and participate in creating new policies.
  • Contribute to maintaining the care environment, including equipment and supplies.
  • Identify and assist in improving clinical and operational performance.
  • Assist in managing supplies and equipment, reporting any malfunctions to the charge nurse.
  • Participate in training programs and help train new staff.
  • Perform other related duties as needed.

  • Current State of North Carolina LPN licensure or Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) required.
