Job Description
Right at Home is currently looking for an experienced caregiver for a client-specific assignment. This position is ideal for a dependable, compassionate, and skilled caregiver who has hands-on experience working with clients after a stroke and assisting with safe transfers.
A male caregiver is preferred for this client-specific assignment due to the client’s personal care needs and comfort level. All qualified applicants will be considered in accordance with applicable law.
Schedule and Client Care Needs
We are looking for a caregiver who is available for 40–60 hours per week. The caregiver must be experienced and comfortable assisting with:
Transfers from bed to wheelchair and wheelchair to bed
Hoyer lift use
Gait belt use and fall-prevention support
Mobility assistance and wheelchair support
Personal care and hygiene assistance
Following a written care plan
Supporting prescribed PT/OT-style exercises as directed by the client’s family or healthcare professionals
Light housekeeping related to the client’s care
Meal preparation and companionship

What You’ll Do
As a caregiver, you will provide meaningful support to clients by helping them remain safe, comfortable, and cared for in their home. Duties may include personal care, mobility assistance, transfer support, companionship, meal preparation, light housekeeping, and following the client’s care plan. For this assignment, we are looking for a caregiver with strong experience in mobility support, safe transfers, wheelchair assistance, and Hoyer lift use. Experience working with clients recovering from a stroke or with similar physical limitations is strongly preferred.
For this specific assignment, strong transfer skills are required. The caregiver must be confident assisting with stroke-related care needs and using a wheelchair transfers safely.
You may also assist with homemaking tasks such as vacuuming, dusting, sweeping, mopping, dishes, laundry, changing bed linens, and light bathroom cleaning. General household work should remain limited and related to the client’s care needs.

Must-Have Requirements
At least 3 years of caregiving experience
Experience with transfers required
Experience using a Hoyer lift strongly preferred
Experience working with stroke clients strongly preferred
High school diploma or GED preferred
Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English, with or without reasonable accommodation
Ability to lift at least 50 lbs., with or without reasonable accommodation
Sympathetic attitude toward the care of seniors and adults with disabilities
Ability to handle the physical and emotional demands of the job
Current and valid driver’s license preferred
Ability to safely operate a vehicle in compliance with applicable laws and regulations, with or without reasonable accommodation
