Compensation Range: $31.85 - $64.75. Actual compensation will be determined based on job-related factors such as, relevant experience, education, certifications, licensure, and skills that align with the role.

Responsibilities

Administers chemotherapy, hydration, and other medications under the direction and supervision of a physician
Assesses and monitors therapy of patients using appropriate technical skills under the direction and supervision of a physician
Assesses patients for changes in condition, including but not limited to abnormal labs, x-rays, scans and drug reactions. Initiates appropriate action.
Performs venipuncture, accesses implanted ports and maintains central venous access devices and alternate delivering systems
Maintains efficient and appropriate patient flow
Phone triage as assigned
Documents all elements of care
Serves as a resource to the Medical Assistants
Communicates all pertinent information and any interventions to the physician or advanced practice provider
Assesses patient and family needs

Qualifications

Graduate from an accredited program for professional nursing education required; BSN preferred
Oncology experience strongly preferred
Current RN state license required
Current BCLS certification required
OCN certification preferred
Must be willing to travel between offices as needed

Registered Nurse (RN) - Cancer Infusion Center

Newport News, Virginia Overview Works under the supervision nurse manager, practice manager, or director and is responsible for the assessment, planning implementation and evaluation of the total nursing care of assigned patients. The RN may work in a variety of ambulatory outpatient settings to include cancer infusion centers, specialty infusion centers, and general infusion centers. The RN utilizes communication, critical thinking, problem solving, and decision making to create a care plan for each patient based on physiological, psychological, psychosocial and cultural diversity. Responsible for supervising and delegating non-professional personnel working directly with him/her to ensure optimum patient care. Must demonstrate competence in dealing with age related needs of specialty specific patient populations served in the unit/department. Works under the direction of leadership and a multi-disciplinary team to provide a comprehensive range of services or clinical care associated with and in accordance with standards of excellence established by Riverside Health System and facility goals and strategic plans. What you will do Demonstrates ability to assess patient clinical and psychosocial needs by applying standards of practice as it relates to the specialty or patient population served. ( I.E. oncology, neurology, rheumatology, infusion services). Partners with patients and families to develop, implement and evaluate plan of care, treatments and procedures that contribute to the physiological and psychosocial outcomes of the patient. Assesses and incorporates evidence based standards of practice. Collaborates with interdisciplinary team in the coordination care. Facilitates safe patient transitions to the next care setting as part of plan of care. Registered Nurse Transfer Center-Full Time-Evening Shift

Newport News, Virginia Full Time Evenings-12 hours shifts from 10am-10:30pm Works in collaboration with RHS Healthcare teams in assisting with transition of critical and non-critical patients 24/7 to Riverside Health System's Acute and Emergency facilities and services. Manages all inbound and outbound calls for critical transfers through the Riverside Transfer Center. Performs critical and non-critical patient symptom triage through the Riverside Nurse Triage line. Consistently coordinates patient symptom based triage, facilitates direct inpatient and emergency department admits, and consults. Coordinates and arranges patient transport based on clinical assessment to ensure efficient patient throughput for both critical and non-critical patients. Coordinates and facilitates appropriate patient bed placement based on collaboration with physician and critical clinical assessment for Riverside Health System Acute Care facilities. What you will do Demonstrates ability to use clinical knowledge around clinical service lines, disease entities, and epidemiological issues that could affect transport, care, and placement while demonstrating a sense of urgency to facilitate patient throughput to assure patients receive consistent, competent, and ethical care. Adheres to critical and non-critical protocols, algorithms, policies, and procedures. Accurately completes all required clinical and quality documentation consistently per RHS standards and regulatory requirements. Performs critical and non-critical symptom-based triage through the Riverside Nurse line providing patient disposition from 911 to home care. Demonstrates understanding of diverse patient care populations and ability to modify education method to ensure patient/family comprehension.
