Day Kimball Health is hiring a Nurse Practitioner (APRN) to join our Outpatient Mental Health Clinic in Putnam, CT!
This full-time, exempt position offers 40 hours per week on a day shift schedule (8:30 a.m. – 6:00 p.m.). Join a collaborative behavioral health team dedicated to providing high-quality, compassionate outpatient mental health services to the residents of Connecticut's Quiet Corner.

Nurse Practitioner (APRN) Key Responsibilities:
- Assess, manages, prescribes, and evaluates appropriate therapeutic and pharmacological interventions for common illnesses according to standards of practice. Consults or makes referral to primary care physician, other health care professionals or agencies when a situation is beyond their level of expertise or when additional services are needed to coordinate their health care.
- If licensed after 1999 must have Master’s Degree in Nursing from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program required.
- American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) Certification as a Psychiatric-Mental Health-NP Required
- Must have a nationally recognized certification to practice.
- Current Federal DEA and State Controlled Substance License required.
- Current Connecticut State RN/APRN Licensure.
- 2-3 years experience in clinical setting providing direct patient care required.
- Ability to discriminate between normal and abnormal findings in the history and physical exam in order to establish a diagnosis.
- Ability to assess severity of patient’s illness and establish need/time for patient's evaluation.
- Ability to plan and care for patient’s identified problem including medication, diet, therapeutic procedures, etc.
- Ability to consult with other health team members regarding proposed treatment guidelines.
- Ability to form therapeutic relationships with patients.
- Demonstrate appropriate communication, interpersonal and organizational skills, and ability to maintain positive relationship with physicians, nurses and other hospital personnel.
- Demonstrate leadership and advanced clinical decision making skills.
- Demonstrate cultural sensitivity to diverse populations.
- Demonstrates responsibility for continual professional development and commitment to advanced practice nursing.
- Must be self-directed, creative and able to work independently.
