Position Overview:

Majestic Care LPNs render skilled technical nursing services to residents within an assigned unit/wing in support of medical care as directed by the nursing management team; supervises CNAs to ensure a high quality of care is provided to all residents in that unit.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Initiate and lead team conferences in development of individualized nursing care plans.

  • Assess and document the residents’ condition and nursing needs.

  • Accurately and promptly implement physicians’ orders.

  • Administer medications, start IVs, and perform treatments for assigned residents and document that treatment as required by Majestic Care and local, state, and federal rules and regulations.

  • Participate in orientation and in-service training for personnel.

  • Assist physicians with special tests and procedures within the scope of state specified Nursing Practice Act.

  • Report and record pertinent observations and reactions regarding residents.

  • Coordinate nursing care of residents when scheduled for therapy or procedures by other departments.

  • Assist with or institute emergency measures for sudden adverse developments in residents.

 

Qualifications:

  • Graduate of accredited school of nursing.

  • Licensed as an LPN in the state employed; license must be active, valid, and in good standing.

  • Valid CPR teaching certificate preferred but not required.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Direct the day-to-day functions of the nursing assistants. Meet with your assigned nursing staff, as well as support personnel, in planning the shift’s services, programs, and activities. Make written & oral reports/recommendations concerning the activities of the shift as required. Admit, transfer, and discharge residents as required. Provide leadership to nursing personnel assigned to your unit/shift. Complete & file required recordkeeping forms/charts upon the resident’s admission, transfer, and/or discharge. Receive & transcribe telephone orders from physicians & record them on the Physician’s Order Form. Chart nurse’s notes in an informative & descriptive manner that reflects the care provided to the resident, as well as the resident’s response to the care. Fill out and complete accident/incident reports & submit them to Director as required. Perform routine charting duties as required & in accordance with established charting & documentation policies & procedures. Prepare & administer medications as ordered by the physician. Maintain confidentiality of all resident care information including protected health information. Report known or suspected incidents of unauthorized disclosure of such information. Ensure that all nursing care is provided in privacy and that nursing service personnel knock before entering the resident’s room. Provide IV & IV site care as needed. Performs other duties as assigned. QUALIFICATIONS: Registered Nurse with current unencumbered state licensure. Licensed Practical Nurse with current unencumbered state licensure.
