Key Responsibilities

  • Observes patients from special care units requiring direct nurse attention.
  • Operates recorders and physiological monitoring and therapeutic equipment as necessary.
  • Contributes to the educational and competency processes of the Radiology Department.
  • Assists in prepping patients, moving patients, and setting up for procedures.
  • Administers medication, IV injections, sedation, and takes vital signs as needed.
  • Assist in patient/family education.
  • Promotes and maintains positive relationships with radiology staff, radiologists, supervisors and all contractors.
  • Meets physiological and psychosocial patient needs.
  • Assists in procedure records, consent forms, and maintains logbooks for departmental use.
  • Assists administration in planning and developing policies and procedures regarding nursing care of patients in the department of Radiology.
  • Adapts care to the patient's level of development/age-specific needs.

Qualifications

  • A Nursing Degree from an accredited college
  • Current unrestricted license as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the State of Louisiana
  • Current CPR/BLS certification
  • Ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action.
