CNA's are responsible for the following:

Attend to the individual needs of residents, including bathing, feeding, dressing, and ambulating.
Responsible for taking and recording patient vital signs lifting, moving and transporting residents, using proper body mechanics.
Recognizing and reporting changes in resident conditions to a nurse management. Asking appropriate questions to clarify situations.
Communicate and interact effectively and tactfully with the residents, visitors, families, peers and supervisors.
Reporting abnormal changes or patterns to nursing staff.
Demonstrating the ability to assist the nurse with various duties as directed.

Job Requirements

At least one year of experience as a CNA in a Long Term Care setting is highly preferred.
Must be a graduate of an accredited Certified Nursing Aide Assistant program.
Must possess and maintain a current state certification as a CNA.
Maintain a satisfactory level of attendance and punctuality.
CPR Certification required

Perform activities of daily living for the residents assigned under the direction and supervision of a Nurse. Is responsible for assisting nursing in providing resident care. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Provide personal care to residents, including bathing (bed, shower, tub, whirlpool) shampooing, combing hair, oral care, personal hygiene, shaving, nail care, and dressing. Ensure call bell is positioned within residents’ reach. Keep incontinent residents clean and dry. Distribute, empty, and clean bedpans and urinals and assist residents to and from bathroom or with bedside commode. Empty catheter bags as needed. Ambulate residents, assist residents in and out of chairs and wheelchairs, position bedridden residents according to plan of care, and utilize appropriate support devices. Make rounds and reposition residents. Prepare residents for meals and assist with meal service – transport residents to and from dining room, serve trays, assist with feeding when necessary, remove trays, and accurately document residents’ intake immediately after consumption.
