Job Description
The Clinical Nurse I (CN I -registered nurse) promotes and restores patients' health by completing the nursing process; collaborating with physicians and multidisciplinary team members; providing physical and psychological support to patients, friends, and families. The RN utilizes knowledge derived from the principles of biological, physical, behavioral, social, and nursing sciences to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate culturally based and age specific patient care. The RN incorporates the principles of the ANCC Synergy Model for patient care to drive nursing practice, resulting in optimum outcomes for the patient.

Qualifications
Education and Experience:
- Required: Associate Degree from an accredited school of Nursing (ASN)
- Preferred: Bachelor's Degree from an accredited school of Nursing (BSN)
- Licensed to practice as a s Registered Nurse in the State of Ohio.
- Current BLS/ACLS/PALS per department requirements based on patient population needs.

- Nursing experience relevant to specific clinical area preferred, may be required
- Completes mandatory annual educations and departmental competency requirements
- See department standards for additional certification and licensure requirements. For employees working in UCMC Psychiatric Services, NCI-APS (Nonviolent Crisis Intervention with Advanced Physical Skills) Certification must be obtained within 90 days of hire.

- Includes cultural differences, spiritual beliefs, gender, race , ethnicity, lifestyle socioeconomic status, age and values in provision of care
- Facilitates learning for patients/ families, nursing staff and community including formal and informal learning
- Create practice changes through research utilization and experiential learning
