Summary
The Trauma Program Coordinator is responsible for the organization of services and systems necessary for a multidisciplinary approach to providing care to injured patients. This individual works to collaboratively enhance the care and treatment of trauma patient and is responsible for the development and advancement of the quality of trauma practice across the continuum of care, through the provision of patient care, consultation, collaboration, education, and performance improvement.
Responsibilities
(25%)*�Works in close collaboration with the Trauma Medical Staff�in a multidisciplinary approach to care of the injured patients. This includes creating/operating a highly effective trauma performance program that functionally addresses all performance issues that arise.
(25%)*�Evaluates trauma data for a variety of clinical, operation, and system purposes.�
(25%)* Reviews all traumas for Standish and Tawas for accuracy and completeness. Enters the charges for both facilities. Reviews the Trauma Registrars' work and entry into the trauma software.
(25%)* Assists with traumas in the department as a nurse (care and documentation).� Provides education to the community as per Medical Center trauma designation request.
Other Duties And Responsibilities:
Fosters cooperation and coordination of services among employees and departments.
Communicate openly and freely with all employees and providers in the hospital.
Takes responsibility for continued professional development and advancement of clinical practice.
Assures compliance with all policies, procedures, regulations, standards and laws.
Unsafe conditions are addressed promptly.
Monitor for appropriate transport destinations of all patients and methods of transport, including air medical utilization.
Responds in a timely and appropriate manner to problems voiced by medical staff, employees, patients, and members of the community.
Develops and maintains relationships with Physicians, surrounding hospitals, other health care agencies and community service agencies to enhance the continuity of patient care services.
Demonstrates professionalism and courtesy at all times toward all employees, physicians, associated staff and My Michigan Medical Center Tawas customers and potential customers.
Demonstrates competency in Infection Prevention and Control Practices and Policies.
All other duties as assigned.

Overall dexterity is required including handling, reaching, grasping, fingering and feeling. May require repetition of these movements on a regular to frequent basis.
Physical Demand Level:�Heavy. Must be able to occasionally (0-33% of the workday) lift or carry up to 350 pounds, with assistance, in wheelchairs or carts, frequently (34-66% of the workday) 20 lbs. and or Walk/Stand/Push/Pull of Arm/Leg controls and constantly (67-100% or the workday) 10lbs.
