Are you a highly skilled Acute Care Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant looking to make a meaningful impact in critical care? Crescent City Physicians, Inc. is seeking experienced Advanced Practice Providers to join our Intensive Care Unit team on a PRN basis. This is an exciting opportunity to work alongside a collaborative team of intensivists, nurses, and healthcare professionals dedicated to delivering exceptional care to critically ill patients.
In this role, you will practice at the top of your license, managing complex patient populations in a fast-paced ICU environment while providing compassionate, evidence-based care.

Key Responsibilities
Patient Assessment & Management
- Perform comprehensive evaluations of critically ill patients.
- Develop, implement, and modify individualized treatment plans.
- Manage acute and chronic conditions, ensuring optimal patient outcomes.
Collaborative Care
- Partner with physicians, nurses, respiratory therapists, and other members of the care team.
- Facilitate seamless transitions of care during shift changes and patient handoffs.
Procedures & Interventions
- Assist with and perform advanced bedside procedures, including:
- Intubations
- Central venous line placements
- Arterial line insertions
- Other critical care procedures within scope of practice
Medication Management
- Prescribe and manage medications as permitted by licensure and organizational protocols.
- Titrate critical care medications and initiate emergency interventions when appropriate.
Monitoring & Documentation
- Continuously assess patient status and response to treatment.
- Interpret laboratory and diagnostic results.
- Maintain accurate, thorough, and timely documentation in the electronic medical record.
Patient & Family Education
- Communicate effectively with patients and families regarding treatment plans, prognosis, and ongoing care needs.
- Provide compassionate support during critical situations.
Quality Improvement
- Participate in quality initiatives and evidence-based practice projects.
- Support departmental goals related to safety, patient outcomes, and operational excellence.
Qualifications
Education
- Master's or Doctoral degree from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program or
- Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program
Licensure
- Current, unrestricted Louisiana Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant license
Certifications
- BLS and ACLS certifications from the American Heart Association required
- Acute Care Nurse Practitioner (ACNP) or Critical Care Nurse Practitioner (CCNP) certification preferred
- CCRN certification preferred
Experience
- Minimum of two (2) years of critical care experience as an NP, PA, or RN
- Demonstrated experience managing critically ill patients in an ICU setting
Skills & Competencies
- Strong critical thinking and clinical decision-making abilities
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Proficiency in advanced critical care procedures
- Ability to work independently and effectively in a high-acuity environment
- Commitment to patient-centered care and teamwork
