The Care Supervisor functioning under the supervision and guidance of the PCP and/or Clinical Dyad leader is responsible for organizing and directing the work of the clinical staff, coordinating staff activities and schedules to ensure that effective patient care services are provided, and ensuring quality standards are met. The incumbent in this role has primary responsibility of leading back office center operations including, quality, compliance, human resources, patient experience, clinical standards of care and direct supervision of employees. He/She is accountable for working with the medical leaders, care team members and patients to ensure VIP service delivery.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Servicing the needs of our patients, runs the clinical operations of the center to ensure operations meet the demands of the center, leadership and growth demands.
  • Leads and monitors performance of clinical operations and implements progressive improvements when needed.
  • Ensures key performance targets are met, including but not limited to SSP metrics, wait times, care team integrity and Care Promoter engagement and turnover.
  • Leads great quality selection and hiring of clinical staff including Licensed Practical Nurses, Care Promoters and Medication & Pharmacy Techs.
  • Collaborates with PCPs to manage care team performance.
  • Provides and facilitates orientation and onboarding of new care team members ensuring they are fully trained in philosophy of care, patient flow and clinical competencies to successfully perform their duties.
  • Ensures OSHA, clinical and quality standards of ChenMed are met by monitoring performance and implementing corrective action plans when needed.
  • Provides ongoing education and training in collaboration with the Market Clinical Manager to enable team members to meet patient care and organizational priorities.
  • Supervises completion of patient care requirements by scheduling and assigning care team members and following up on work results.
  • Manages and monitors operation of medical and administrative equipment by verifying emergency equipment availability; ensuring completion of preventive maintenance requirements; following manufacturer's instructions; troubleshooting malfunctions; calling for repairs; maintaining equipment inventories and evaluating new equipment and techniques.
  • Manages medical supply inventories to optimum levels by maximizing efficiencies.
  • Completes all required training to dispense medications from medication room.
  • Performs other duties as assigned and modified at manager’s discretion.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE CRITERIA:

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent required
  • BA/BS degree in Business or Healthcare Administration or a healthcare related field preferred
  • Active and good standing Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) in current state of employment OR a nationally accredited Certified Medical Assistant required; other clinical licensure/certifications above the minimum requirement may also be considered
  • A minimum of 5 years progressive work experience in a medical clinic, hospital or similarly regulated healthcare environment required
  • A minimum of 2 years management experience with direct reports required; in a medical clinic, hospital or similarly regulated environment strongly preferred
  • IV Therapy certification for LPNs where required by State Board of Nursing
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association (AMA) or American Red Cross required w/in first 90 days of employment
  • Experience working with geriatric patients is preferred
  • EMR system experience a plus

PAY RANGE:

$54,358 - $77,655 Salary

The posted pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for this position. Final compensation will depend on a variety of factors including but not limited to experience, education, geographic location, and other relevant factors. This position may also be eligible for a bonuses or commissions.

Responsibilities Reports To: Office Manager Position Objective: The Medical Assistant is responsible for providing both clinical and administrative support to ensure the delivery of safe, high-quality, patient-centered care. Measure, document, and report vital signs and other clinical observations. Prepare patients and examination rooms for provider visits. Assist providers during examinations, treatments, and in-office procedures. Explain provider instructions, treatment plans, medications, and follow-up care to patients as directed. Provide compassionate, professional service that promotes a positive patient experience. Clinical Procedures: Administer oral and injectable medications, immunizations, and treatments as directed by the provider and permitted by state regulations. Assist with wound care, dressing changes, bandaging, irrigation of eyes and ears, and other clinical procedures. Initiate and monitor IV infusions when appropriately trained and permitted by state regulations. Perform phlebotomy and prepare specimens for laboratory testing. Perform CLIA-waived laboratory testing in accordance with established procedures. Conduct in-office diagnostic testing, including but not limited to: Electrocardiograms (EKGs) Vision screenings Pulse oximetry Peak flow testing Oxygen administration as ordered Inhalation treatments Spirometry Perform PT/INR testing using approved equipment (CoaguChek/Coag-Sense) and glucose testing using a glucometer. Complete laboratory quality controls and maintain required testing logs. Clean, disinfect, and sterilize reusable instruments and properly dispose of contaminated materials in accordance with infection prevention standards. Clinical Documentation & Care Coordination: Accurately document patient encounters, treatments, diagnostic results, procedures, supplies utilized, and telephone encounters within the EMR. Complete outbound and inbound patient communications, including: Appointment reminders Medication reminders Transitional Care Management (TCM) — Medicare-supported outreach within 2 days of hospital or facility discharge to reduce readmissions and support safe care transitions Preventive care outreach Support Annual Wellness Visits (AWVs) by preparing Health Risk Assessments (HRAs), updating preventive care records, and ensuring completion of required documentation. Assist in patient outreach, scheduling of preventive screenings, and documentation of completed services. Care coordination activities Maintain patient medical records in accordance with organizational policies and HIPAA requirements. Administrative & Operational Support: Professionally manage front office responsibilities, including: Answering incoming telephone calls Greeting patients Scheduling appointments Patient registration and check-in/check-out Processing referrals Prescription refill coordination Routing clinical and administrative inquiries Monitor inventory levels of medical supplies, pharmaceuticals, and disposable clinical items, and assist with ordering as needed. Assist with maintaining office and clinical supply inventories. Support onboarding and training of new team members as assigned. Collaborate with providers, clinical staff, and front office personnel to ensure efficient clinic operations. Perform other duties as assigned. Position Requirements/ Skills: High school diploma or equivalent required. Bilingual Spanish required. Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program preferred (CMA, RMA, NCMA, CCMA, or equivalent certification). 1+ year(s) of experience as a Medical Assistant in a physician practice, outpatient, or ambulatory care setting preferred. Current CPR/BLS certification required or obtained within organizational guidelines. IV Therapy certification preferred, where permitted by state regulations. Phlebotomy experience preferred. Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and clinical office procedures. Working knowledge of common medications and disease processes affecting the patient population served. Knowledge of HIPAA, OSHA, infection prevention, and CLIA regulations. Knowledge of medical coding principles preferred. Experience using electronic medical records (EMRs).
