Job Opportunity: RN Registered Nurse Supervisor

Available Shifts:

  • Part-time 3p-11p

  • Part-time 11pm-7am

  • Per Diem all shifts

Responsibilities Include:

  • Planning, overseeing, and executing nursing services for residents while ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.

  • Supervising day-to-day nursing activities to guarantee residents receive top-quality care consistently.

  • Collaborating with the Nursing Director to strategize nursing service operations and emergency support provisions for shifts.

  • Coordinating nursing activities in alignment with medical requirements, physician directives, and general care plans.

  • Managing and directing charge nurses to ensure residents receive proper care.

  • Adjusting care plans in collaboration with medical staff to address emergency medical needs.

  • In absence of superiors, RN Supervisor assumes total responsibility for operating decisions required by the circumstances of the moment.

  • Ensuring adequate relief staff availability before leaving the facility and notifying residents' personal physicians in case of significant changes in their condition or immediate medical care needs.

Qualifications:

  • The RN Registered Nurse Supervisor must hold a current state RN license and be a Registered Nurse in good standing.

  • Must have previous experience in a supervisory capacity.

  • Attention to detail, good follow through skills and ability to prioritize multiple tasks.

  • The RN Registered Nurse Supervisor demonstrates cooperation in assisting others and ability to work as a team.

  • Long term care experience preferred.

  • Must be knowledgeable of general rehabilitative and restorative nursing and medical practices, procedures, laws, regulations and guidelines governing long term care.

Additional Expectations: All RN Supervisor positions require weekend on-call availability to support both staff and residents. Compensation details available upon inquiry. Per diem staff are expected to fulfill (2) weekend shifts monthly to meet requirements.

Job Summary: A Vascular Access Nurse provides access to a patient’s circulatory system through the insertion of a Vascular Access Device (VAD). A VAD can range from IVs, Peripheral IVs (PIVs), and Midlines, contained in the arms, all the way to Central Venous Catheters (CVCs), including Peripherally Inserted Central Catheters (PICCs). Required Experience: Ideal candidates have experience with vascular line placement as well as care and maintenance. Five year’s nursing experience Two year’s experience in PICC/Midline Insertions Certified Registered Nurse Infusion (CRNI) preferred Knowledge and Skills: Provide patient consultations for Vascular Access Device appropriateness using diagnosis, intravenous plan of therapy, prognosis, and medical/surgical history. Follows the national Standards of Practice set by the Infusion Nurses Society. Set up and perform vascular access procedures as ordered in accordance with skill-set. Appropriately trained and credentialed clinicians may set up and perform basic (PICC, Midline, peripheral IV) insertion. Understand and use all required infection prevention measures, including hand washing, PPE, and maximal sterile field. Use ultrasound guidance when appropriate for VAD access. Understand and perform complete documentation and full report to the licensed personnel caring for the patient post-insertion. Ensure compliance with all facility policies and procedures regarding clinical practice and infection control. Troubleshoots/declots obstructed central line catheters. Monitors PICC/Midline and educates staff on prevention of line infection and routine care. Submits surveillance data for Quality and Infection Control. Provides infusion consultation services to enhance the intravenous skills of the nursing staff through bedside teaching, central line troubleshooting, and consultation on any infusion therapy questions. Teaches patients and staff how to care for the line. Abilities: Understand the Nurse Practice Act in the state of practice. Work independently and provide comprehensive reporting within a group. Adapt to new environments and techniques. Communicate and teach with excellence. Willingly maintain and improve knowledge level related to vascular access with seminars, magazines, books, and more.
