Job Summary:

We are seeking experienced Physician Assistants or Nurse Practitioners who have urgent care or emergency room experience, treating both adult and pediatric patients, to join our welcoming and diverse communities of Portland and Vancouver providers.

Urgent care Advanced Practitioners (Physician Assistant/Nurse Practitioner) provide a wide variety of clinical services including treatment of acute episodic conditions such as sore throats, colds, flu-like symptoms, cuts, sprains and minor infections. Functioning in lieu of or alongside of a physician, it is essential for an urgent care Advanced Practitioner to have excellent assessment skills in order to recognize more serious conditions and direct the patient to the emergency room for advanced care when necessary.

Key Responsibilities:

Treat both pediatric and adult patient populations (all ages, 6 months old and up)

Perform minor procedures (sutures, casts, splints, etc.), and provide preliminary reads of EKGs and X-rays.

Make diagnoses and prescribe treatments/medications.

Collaborative work environment with the opportunity to work with a dedicated Scribe at our busier centers.

Work in state-of-the-art centers are equipped with advanced technology, including an integrated EPIC EMR. 

Collaborate with on-site Rad Techs, Medical Assistants and Paramedics for support.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum of 1 year of fulltime experience in an Urgent Care or Emergency Medicine setting as a NP or PA is required

Experience treating both pediatric and adult patient populations (all ages) required.

Comfortable with minor procedures (sutures, casts, splints, etc.), and preliminary reads on EKGs and X-rays required.

Physician Assistants: Master’s degree and NCCPA Certification is required

Nurse Practitioners: Master’s degree and appropriate certification required (AANC or AANP)

Responsibilities Works in collaboration with physicians to provide complete physical examinations, diagnosis, and treatment of both chronic and episodic disorders. Assigned principal responsibility for primary health care of patients under professional medical direction from physicians. Seeks the expert opinion or advice of a physician whenever the incumbent decides a case falls outside the scope authorized by policies and protocol. Plans and implements and a physician reviews and confirms health care goals for patients. Responsible for the patient throughout the course of the treatment, provides the physical examination, the diagnosis, and the health care plan, determines when the patient has recovered, and releases the patient. Refers patients to physicians for consultation or to specialized health resources for treatment but retains responsibility for clinical management as well as any subsequent modification. Qualifications Education: As required by licensure.
