Job Description and Performance Standards
Title: Surgical Care RN Level I - 553612000
Department: Surgical Care
Reports To: Director, Surgical Services
JOB SUMMARY
Provides direct patient care to patients in an ambulatory setting using the nursing process. Must be able to manage the care of assigned patients and cope with rapid patient turnover. Must be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide appropriate care to patients of all ages.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS
Education: Graduate of accredited school of nursing. Successful completion of the Basic Arrhythmia and Conscious Sedation Class
within 90 days of employment.
Licensure: Currently licensed as a Registered Nurse in Georgia, BLS CPR required
Experience: Prefer one year nursing experience in acute care, but will provide on the job training.
Skills: Routine nursing skills.
PHYSICAL, MENTAL, ENVIRONMENTAL AND WORKING CONDITIONS
Prolonged walking and standing required with the ability to lift and move patients. Must b able to lift up to 50pounds. Ability to tolerate rapid patient turnover. Works in a typical ambulatory setting with patients experiencing a wide range of surgical procedures and anesthetics. Required to work rotating day shift hours with late day assignments.
