The NP will assist collaborating physician, with work surrounding patient admissions and discharges. Physician Assistant Assist the collaborating physician in coordinating patient admissions and discharges. Responsibilities include reviewing patient records, obtaining relevant health and medical histories, performing physical examinations, and documenting pertinent findings in the medical record. Conduct patient rounds to monitor progress and assess overall health status. Perform or order appropriate diagnostic and therapeutic tests and procedures, and formulate differential diagnoses as indicated. Manage cases by identifying individual patient needs based on collected data and implementing physician-directed treatment plans, which may include both pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic interventions. Prescribe medications and treatments as authorized under the Medical Practice Act, Chapter 157. Provide patient and family counseling and education, initiate appropriate consults and referrals for specialized services and multidisciplinary support, and continuously reassess and adjust the plan of care as needed to achieve optimal medical and health outcomes. Qualifications Nurse Practitioner Education and Training: Master’s degree with Nurse Practitioner (NP) certification from an accredited program. Current Active Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN)/Nurse Practitioner (NP) license in the state where hospital resides. Current ACLS and Healthcare Provider/BLS certifications required. Current national certification with an accredited testing organization. Experience: Interventional Radiology and/or Vascular experience to perform procedures such as chest tube placements, paracenteses, thoracenteses, and tunneled catheter procedures. Physician Assistant Education and Training: The applicant must demonstrate successful completion of an educational program for physician assistants accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs, or by that committee’s predecessor or successor entities.
