Registered Nurse, RN - Observation Unit

Join the remarkable team on the Observation Unit at Novant Health Presbyterian Medical Center, where you'll experience the fast pace of emergency care with the continuity and teamwork of inpatient nursing. Opened in February 2026, this innovative unit bridges the gap between the Emergency Department and inpatient care, creating a dynamic environment where no two days are the same.

As a Registered Nurse on the Observation Unit, you'll care for a diverse patient population requiring short-term inpatient treatment while working alongside a highly collaborative team committed to delivering safe, remarkable care. This role is ideal for nurses with inpatient acute care or Emergency Department experience who thrive in a fast-paced environment, communicate effectively, adapt quickly, and enjoy working as part of a supportive team.

When census allows, nurses may have the opportunity to float across inpatient units at Presbyterian Medical Center and Charlotte Orthopedic Hospital, further expanding their experience while remaining part of a strong, connected nursing team.

• Education: 4 Year / Bachelors Degree, preferred.
  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing required. If your RN nursing license has been inactive, retired or lapsed for five years or more and you have not been licensed in another state during the last five years, successful completion of a Board approved refresher course is required prior to reactivating or reinstating your license. In order to be considered for current licensure status, you must apply for reinstatement within one year of completing the refresher course.
• Experience: One year relevant experience, preferred.
• Licensure/Certification: Current RN licensure in appropriate state, required.
