WKHS Physician Services is looking for a Registered Nurse to work in the clinic environment. They will work on all four campuses as a relief nurse. The RN will be in Internal Medicine, OB/GYN, Family medicine, Hematology, Urology and all specialty clinics. The nurse coordinates nursing care for patients while in the Physician Clinics. A detailed-orientated, dependable, organized nurse who is able to do multitask and has demonstrated a consistent work history will be the candidate chosen for the job!

Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, the following: assessing the patient systematically and utilizing the assessment data to plan appropriate nursing care; implementing care based on knowledge of professional standards of nursing practice; assisting the physician with the patient's plan of care and patient's response to the nursing intervention on a continuous basis; and identifying the learning needs of patients and family members and meets these through the teaching/learning process. Other responsibilities are returning and answering phone calls, prescription call-in, administration of medication to include vaccines, setting up and assisting with clinic procedures. They will work with insurance companies for preauthorization of tests, procedures and surgery.

The office hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. You will not be required to work weekends and holidays. An RN with a current license to practice as a professional nurse in the state of Louisiana will be required for this position. A department orientation will be provided based on your experience and level of comfort and a hospital-wide orientation will be required upon hire.
