The Enterprise Resource Team is a dynamic, multi-site nursing team that supports hospitals and care settings across the Advocate Health system. Resource Team teammates may support multiple hospitals within an assigned zone and may be placed in day-to-day staffing assignments or longer-term assignments based on operational needs.

Position Responsibilities

As a Registered Nurse, you will provide high-quality, patient-centered care through evidence-based practice, clinical expertise, and compassionate care delivery. Responsibilities include:

  • Utilizing the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care.
  • Collaborating with interdisciplinary teams to achieve optimal patient outcomes.
  • Advocating for patient safety and promoting a culture of quality and excellence.
  • Maintaining accurate and timely documentation within the electronic health record.
  • Supporting patient care needs across designated units, departments, and facilities as assigned.
  • Participating in professional governance, quality initiatives, and ongoing professional development.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Graduate of a Board of Nursing approved nursing education program.
  • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in applicable state(s) of practice.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Minimum of one year of clinical nursing experience.
  • Strong communication, critical thinking, and clinical decision-making skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
  • Previous acute care experience.
  • Flexibility and willingness to support a variety of patient care environments.

Minimum Job Requirements 

Education

Graduate of a Board of Nursing approved nursing education program. 

Certification / Registration / License 

  • Basic Life Support (BLS). Additional education, training, certifications, or experience may be required based on specialty. 
  • Active registered nurse (RN) multi-state compact and/or single-state license with privileges to practice in the state(s) where the RN is providing client nursing services 

Note: Licensed nurses practicing via telehealth/telenursing/virtual modalities are required to be licensed or hold the privilege to practice in the state(s) where the client(s) is/are located. Licensed nurses are responsible and accountable for knowing, understanding, and practicing in compliance with the laws, rules, regulations, and standards of practice of the state(s) where the client(s) is/are located. 

Experience

Typically requires 1 year of experience in clinical nursing.

  • Proficiency in operating computer functions (e.g., E-mail, electronic records, digital platforms etc.) clinical, aviation, maintenance, communications, and administrative departments.  

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions

  • Must be able to sit, stand, walk, lift, squat, bend, reach above shoulders, and twist frequently throughout the workday. 
  • Must be able to lift and support the weight of 35 pounds in handling patients, medical equipment, and supplies. 
  • Must be able to: push/pull with 30 lbs. of force and perform a sliding transfer of 150 lbs. with a second person present. 
  • Must have functional speech, vision, hearing, and touch with ability to use fine hand manipulation skills for IV insertion and other procedures/functions. 
  • Maneuver foot pedals on carts or machines. 
  • Perform physical safety interventions such as patient restraint and verbal de-escalation, if needed. 
  • May be exposed to chemical and hazardous waste as well as blood and body fluids and communicable disease. Therefore, protective clothing and equipment must be worn as necessary. 
  • Must be able to respond quickly to changes in patient and/or unit conditions. 
  • Physical Abilities Testing may be required. 
  • Additional department specific physical requirements may be identified for unique responsibilities within the department by the nurse leader.

Level of Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing Years of Experience: 2 years of clinical nursing experience Strong preference for prior RN Case Manager experience What You’ll Do: Conduct comprehensive assessments and create timely care plans & interventions Collaborate and negotiate with patients/families and the multidisciplinary team to meet goals and preferences Provide continuity of care and discharge planning aligned with regulatory standards Coordinate smooth transfers and handoffs across units and settings Deliver case management services (healthcare access, finances, housing, family dynamics, illness adjustment) using community resources Initiate internal/external referrals; document discharge planning and UM activities accurately and on time Perform concurrent/retrospective reviews using approved criteria Partner closely with Social Work and support staff to implement safe, effective plans of care Identify and remove barriers to discharge; expedite care delivery and report care coordination/UM outcomes Collaborate with managers, physicians, medical directors, and physician advisors on status, progression of care, and regulatory compliance Complete UM activities (payer updates, data collection, denials coordination, avoidable delay management); deliver CMS notices within required timeframes Build relationships with community agencies; collaborate with Ambulatory Care Management/Continuing Health Educate staff on admission status, acute care criteria, UM, care coordination, discharge planning, and regulatory requirements Provide age-appropriate care per departmental standards ​ Schedule Details/Additional Information: Saturday through Monday 8-430pm $11 hourly premium for Sat and Sun hours worked Ready to Take the Next Step: Apply Now!
