    Description The IHR Staff Nurse Oncology reflects the mission, vision, and values of NM, adheres to the organization’s Code of Ethics and Corporate Compliance Program, and complies with all relevant policies, procedures, guidelines and all other regulatory and accreditation standards. The IHR Staff Nurse Oncology will work in a multidisciplinary environment which will require exceptional interpersonal skills, including the ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with patients, physicians, clinical and administrative units. This position will utilize nursing skills to perform patient assessments via phone or in person and implement nursing interventions; as such the ability to use appropriate judgment, independent thinking and creativity is required when resolving patient care issues.     Position Summary The Clinical Nurse Consultant II (CNC II) for Cancer Prevention and Genetics is accountable for facilitating the delivery of patient care utilizing the Nursing Process and Relationship-Based Care model as the framework. The CNC II provides patient care and consultation, coordinates the educational development of staff members, and acts as a role model in clinical practice. Through shared leadership, Evidence-Based Practice, Relationship-Based Care, and standards of nursing excellence, the CNC II works to improve patient outcomes while supporting unit, clinic, and organizational goals. The CNC II serves as a clinical expert, educator, consultant, and change agent for cancer prevention and genetics across primary care clinics. The CNC II collaborates with primary care providers, nurses, care managers, genetic counselors, specialists, and other members of the multidisciplinary team to identify patients at increased hereditary cancer risk, facilitate appropriate genetic evaluation and testing, promote risk-appropriate cancer screening, and support patients and families in understanding and managing hereditary cancer risk.
