POSITION SUMMARY: To perform intermittent direct or indirect hands-on patient care to meet the patient's needs in accordance with the plan of care and assist in maintaining a safe and clean environment under the direction and supervision of a Registered Professional Nurse. EDUCATION: High school diploma or equivalent. EXPERIENCE: One year of current experience in a skilled nursing facility, home health agency, or proven proficiency. SPECIAL SKILLS: Completion of the State approved Home Health Aide Training course, Home Health Aide competency exam and certification through the New Jersey State Board of Nursing. Ability to work in a changing patient care environment and meet patient's needs (chronic and/or terminal illness). Ability to work cooperatively within the health system; with patient and family members; and with multidisciplinary team members (i.e. , nurses, Rehab staff, etc.). Ability to utilize effective time management to set priorities, perform job related responsibilities, and respond quickly to emergency situations. Ability to read write and understand english.
