Position Summary
As a Nurse Aide in Training, you'll work under the supervision of licensed nurses while completing a State-Approved Nurse Aide Training and Competency Evaluation Program. You'll develop the knowledge and hands-on skills needed to become a successful Certified Nursing Assistant while providing compassionate care to residents.
What You'll Learn
Assisting residents with activities of daily living (ADLs)
Bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and personal hygiene
Safe resident transfers, positioning, and mobility assistance
Feeding assistance and hydration support
Bed making and room preparation
Infection prevention and infection control practices
Proper communication with residents, families, and healthcare staff
Resident safety and fall prevention
Resident dignity, privacy, and rights
Basic healthcare documentation
Teamwork in a skilled nursing and rehabilitation environment
Responsibilities
Under the supervision of a licensed nurse, you will:
Assist residents with personal care and daily living activities
Help residents with meals, hydration, and comfort needs
Assist with ambulation, repositioning, and transfers
Answer call lights and respond to resident requests
Make beds and prepare resident rooms
Assist with meal service and dining room support
Organize resident rooms and personal belongings
Clean and sanitize resident care equipment
Monitor residents and report changes or concerns to the nursing team
Follow infection prevention and safety procedures
Maintain resident dignity, privacy, and confidentiality
Participate in orientation, in-service education, and ongoing training
Qualifications
High School Diploma or GED required
Currently enrolled in, or eligible to enroll in, a State-Approved Nurse Aide Training Program
BLS/CPR Certification preferred but not required
Compassionate, dependable, and eager to learn
Strong communication and teamwork skills
Desire to build a long-term career in healthcare
